Design of New Formulations and Improvement of Existing Formulations

If the formulation is wrong, even if the process is correct and the machinery and facility are perfect, neither quality nor cost will be right.

Within MartConsulting’s corporate structure, Rubber Consultancy services are professionally designed service categories for both business owners / company managers with existing facilities and investors and businesspeople who wish to enter the industry or make additional investments. Consultancy services are provided by combining different approaches from various disciplines. By making balanced use of dozens of disciplines such as business management, production management, engineering, chemistry, and scientific analysis, the aim is to enable investors or business owners to make the right decisions for their businesses.

DESIGN OF NEW FORMULATIONS AND IMPROVEMENT OF EXISTING FORMULATIONS

You may need a formulation for an existing or new product. Formulation design and improvement, taking into consideration the requirements of the product or the relevant standard, is one of the services we can provide.
  • Formulation is one of the most important factors for rubber operations. In many cases, logical errors made in formulations result in increased costs and scrap, difficulties in production, and inadequate product quality.
  • With our expert teams, we support you in improving your existing formulations for natural and synthetic rubbers, designing new formulations, adapting your formulations to your processes, and making formulation modifications that will improve product quality.
  • We provide formulation improvements for Natural Rubber, NBR, NBR PVC, XNBR, EPDM, and other types of rubber.
  • When you provide information about the product & application you need, the most suitable formulation and alternative formulations are designed by our experts and put into production, or, if you already have an existing formulation, improvement studies are carried out in the most effective way.
  • We help you meet new raw materials or raw material suppliers, enabling you to develop your raw material and supplier portfolio.

    • Nitrosamine-Free Formulations
    • Antistatic Applications
    • Halogenation and Chlorination Applications
  • Access to Raw Material Sources
Considering that there are many raw material options and an infinite number of possible formulations even for a single product in the rubber industry, the importance of identifying raw material sources and creating formulations is clear. Technical evaluations and recommendations regarding suitable raw materials and formulations, which are the starting point of the rubber business, will be other outcomes of this study.
  • Nitrosamine-Free Formulations
    • Today, the use of Nitrosamine-Free formulations that do not cause Nitrosamine formation is becoming increasingly important for the health of both employees and end users. Particularly, transitioning to Nitrosamine-Free formulations without changing the physical and rheological properties of existing formulations requires significant laboratory and literature research. A simple conversion example is provided below.

  • Antistatic Formulation Applications
    • Antistatic compound formulations are one of our areas of specialized expertise, and our experts are at your service with solutions for applications requiring high conductivity – low electrical resistance.
  • Halogenation and Chlorination Applications
    • The primary purpose of halogenation in finished rubber product applications is to provide a slippery surface structure and reduce the coefficient of friction (COF). One of the most economical applications for this purpose is the chlorination of rubber products. Hydrochloric Acid and Hypochlorite, which are the most readily available, are the most commonly used methods.
    • Products such as latex gloves and certain spare parts for yarn machines can be given the desired surface properties through appropriate chlorine concentration, temperature, and time parameters. Our expert engineers will provide you with all the necessary information regarding the chlorination of your products.
